FROM TEA SETS TO BEAKERS – My Perfumery Journey

I have been experimenting with fragrance for as long as I can remember. Relating smell to memories – a familiar smell can take me back to childhood in an instant.
As a child, I wiled away hours, making potions from the plants and flowers around me – crushing rose petals into water and squeezing lemons into my tea set. The pleasure of rubbing thyme and rosemary between my fingers, picking lavender and rolling in cut grass are all embedded in my mind – like the smell of rain on a hot tar-sealed road or that familiar smell of chlorine on warm concrete after swimming at the pools in the Summer. I have a love for the smell of old books and waxy crayons – so many wonderful, fragrant, aromatic-memories...
I distinctly remember the smell of a baby lamb we fed from an old Fanta bottle filled with warmed milk. To this day when I heat milk, I instinctively take a long sniff and breathe in the aroma of the warmed milk – for a moment, I’m transported back to my five-year-old self.
I still love to pick bouquets of fresh herbs just for their fragrant aroma. I rub rosemary and thyme between my fingers and pick lavender – unconsciously inhaling those intoxicating fragrances. This is the stuff that feeds my soul.
Who remembers making flower crowns from lawn daisies? Lovingly picking dandelions as an offering to your mum. For me, these are memories entwined in a familiar smell. I still, to this day, cannot resist making a daisy-chain or picking a posy.
I spend my time now creating and designing beautiful perfumes. Woody, earthy-scents. Soft floral-fragrances. Crisp, herby, citrus-aromas. Blended with absolute love and passion, just like the special blends I made as a child. I have drawn from my own olfactory memories and every one of my perfumes holds something from a time gone by.
You may enjoy an Eau de Parfum with a quick diffusion or prefer blended, sensual perfume oil that is slowly diffused by the warmth of your skin. Either way, I am sure you will find a favourite in our range. Each perfume has a character and tells a story – with a start – a middle – an end. Whether you are an earthy, woody, floral or fruity person, I hope you find a fragrance that brings you pleasure and takes you on a wonderful, aromatic journey of your own.
